For those of you who are interested in the meaning of our name Kyrie Achates Shih Tzu: Kyrie is a brief petition and response used in various liturgies of several Christian churches, beginning with or composed of the words “Lord, have mercy.” Achates is from Greek and Roman Mythology and was the faithful companion of Aeneas in Virgil's Aeneid and means a loyal friend. So in essence the meaning of our name is Lord have Mercy for our loyal friend. My our Lord be merciful to our loving and loyal Shih Tzu Fur Babies.
Quality and perfection do not come without dedication, devotion, and cost to the human spirit. It is not found or produced in mass. It is in generations of dedicated Shih Tzu breeding. We are dedicated to showing, breeding and serving some of the most beautiful Shih Tzu in the world. At least we think so. We would like to claim that Shih Tzu's are solely ours and we would like to rest our laurels on the Champion Shih Tzu lines in our pedigrees, and boast of their royal Shih Tzu ancestry, heritage, accomplishments and lines, but in truth the accolades need to go to those dedicated Shih Tzu breeders before us and all of those Shih Tzu puppy breeders that will follow after. These people are the ones whom the foundation of the Shih Tzu breed was built and the future will rest with.
